The Weerter Mannenkoor has been founded in 1966 and it can look back upon a lot of highlights. So it made many foreign concert travels, among others to Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, Malta, Belgium and the Czech Republic and it was very successful in these countries, but also in our own country in the course of years. We must not forget in the last place the big prizes it won at several festivals:
third prize at the Bela Bartok Festival at Debrecen, Hungary
first prize at the AVRO choir festival, Hilversum, the Netherlands
first prize at the international Choirfestival, Den Bosch, the Netherlands
the prize of the best male voice choir of the European continent at the "Llangollen international Musical Eisteddfod" in Wales
first prize at the Mannenkoorfestival Floriade 2002, the Netherlands
The choir enjoys reputation in Holland itself and also abroad and by the enthusiasm it radiates - not in the last place by the eminent quality of the singing - it has engaged quite many fans. In our own country the Weerter Mannenkoor has performed a great number of great performances in combination of among others the Limburgs Symfonie orkest and many well-known soloists.
